Master Blender:Angela D’Orazio Primary casks:New American Oak The smoky flavour of Svensk Rök (Swedish Smoke) is inspired by the ancient tradition of seasoning and preserving food by infusing it with juniper smoke. In this second limited edition of Svensk Rök, we have aged our smoked recipe exclusively in new American oak casks. This gives the whisky pronounced notes of vanilla and herbs – a welcome contrast to the bold notes of peat, juniper and tar. NOSE Smoke, spice, oak, fruit and herbs. Notes of peat, juniper, toasted oak and vanilla, followed by a smoky, spicy aroma, saltiness, minerals, tobacco leaves and a light tar taste. Arrak treats, pear fudge, ginger and vanilla. MOUTH Peat, juniper, salt, definitely more smoky than the nose suggests. Pleasant spicy oak with vanilla, toasted oak, pickled figs and pear fudge. The texture is moderately thick with notes of chewed oak. The aftertaste is spicy, smoky and woody with notes of tar, tobacco leaves, bright notes of pickled figs and pear toffee.
