Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength Islay Single Malt 0.7l 57.8%

< cite index="50-1">Sanaig Cask Strength uses the same vatting recipe as the standard bottling, but rather than reducing to 46% it is released in limited numbers at full strength. Sanaig brings together oloroso sherry hogshead finishes and fully matured casks, all sourced from José y Miguel Martín, and the consistency of that wood shows itself all the more clearly at the higher strength. < cite index="50-1">It has been part of the Kilchoman core range since 2016.

< cite index="56-1">The result is an intense combination of rich peat smoke, cinnamon sweetness and stone fruit, with waves of citrus, mixed spice and dark chocolate. < cite index="50-1">Cooked fruits and richness from the oloroso hogsheads sit in balance with warming peat smoke, carried through to a deep, long-lasting finish. < cite index="52-1">Bottled non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
