It is from 12 hectares of old vines, a quarter of a century old, that Château Jean Faux produces this Bordeaux Supérieur. The terroir is that of Saint-Radégonde, under Castillon-la-Bataille, with well exposed clay-limestone hillsides and plateaus. Two grape varieties are present, merlot and cabernet franc, with 4 fifths of the first. After manual harvests sorted on a vibrating table, the vinification is plot-based and takes place in small cement and stainless steel vats, for precise work. The aging is double, with 12 to 14 months in 40% new oak barrels and 6 months in vats, to harmonize the batches.
