Littlemill The Vanguard Collection Chapter 2 Jane MacGregor 47 Years Old 0.7l 44.9%
From its founding to its unfortunate closure, Littlemill’s journey was one of remarkable achievement, shaped by visionary pioneers and the understated trailblazers who guided its course.
Crafted from Littlemill’s oldest surviving reserves, this four-part series pays tribute to the innovators who defined its legacy. Each chapter celebrates their enduring contributions, brought to life through a unique collaboration with kindred spirits and partner artists. This exceptional presentation breathes new life into Littlemill’s storied past, offering a rare opportunity for a select few to own a piece of history.
We now invite you to explore the second chapter of Littlemill’s extraordinary legacy.
Distilled on October 4, 1976, in Littlemill’s distinctive and patented straight-neck copper pot stills, this exceptional whisky began its journey with gentle maturation in refill Bourbon barrels for 20 years.
In 1996, it was carefully recasked into refill American Oak hogsheads, where it rested for an additional 27 years just a short distance from the original distillery site.
After this extraordinary aging process, Master Blender Michael Henry determined that the moment had come for its marrying, bottling, and release.
The result is a pure, unaltered expression of Littlemill’s distillery character, preserved over an unparalleled span of time—the oldest release of its kind to date. Bottled at cask strength, it boasts an impressive 44.9% ABV.
Chapter 2: Jane MacGregor
Our second chapter honors Jane MacGregor, the first woman in history to hold a license for a distillery of Littlemill’s scale. Under her trailblazing leadership, Littlemill reached unprecedented heights.
Crafted from the oldest remaining reserves, this extraordinary 47-year-old release stands as a tribute to Jane and her enduring legacy.
In celebration of her achievements and the barriers she shattered, we have partnered with glassmaker Bethany Wood, a contemporary thought leader and advocate for glassmakers and artisans. Together, we pay homage to Jane through a collaboration rooted in craftsmanship and innovation, befitting her pioneering spirit.
