Littlemill 29YO 2019 Release (contact us!)
Littlemill Aged 29 Years – The 2019 Release is the latest offering from Littlemill’s highly sought-after Private Cellar collection. Set to be unveiled in September, this exquisite single malt Scotch whisky is meticulously crafted from carefully selected liquid sourced from the last remaining casks ever laid down at the iconic Littlemill Distillery.
Having now been recognized as the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland, Littlemill ceased its operations in 1994 and tragically succumbed to a devastating fire in 2004. As a result, this whisky has become exceptionally rare and highly coveted by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
The Littlemill Aged 29 Years represents the third installment in the Private Cellar Collection, a range that showcases the traditional Lowland “floral” style that Littlemill was renowned for. With this particular release, Master Blender Michael Henry has placed special emphasis on developing the wood character, resulting in a truly exceptional expression. Only 600 bottles of this extraordinary whisky will be made available worldwide.
The whisky is elegantly presented in a bespoke Glencairn crystal decanter, which features an exquisite etching of the River Clyde and a silver star symbolizing the distillery’s historic location. Situated in Bowling on the banks of the River Clyde, Littlemill’s proximity to major cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh, facilitated by the completion of the Forth and Clyde Canal in the 1790s, played a pivotal role in its success.
The beautifully crafted presentation box accompanying the whisky includes a 5cl miniature of the liquid, a piece of an original Littlemill cask, and a booklet that delves into the captivating history of the distillery. Inside, you’ll also find tasting notes personally penned by Master Blender Michael Henry.
Littlemill’s whisky production endured until the distillery’s closure in 1994, followed by its tragic destruction in the fire of 2004, leaving no hope for future production.
The release is limited to just 500 individually numbered bottles, each one meticulously engraved to denote its exclusivity and collectability.
