Tasted & described
Tasting notes
Nose
Ripe and pronounced: soft nougat, ruby grapefruit, boiled sweets and dried cranberry, with a herbal freshness.
Palate
Baked apple, honeycomb, orange peel, Danish pastries and Turkish delight, bound in white pepper and oak spice.
Finish
Fresh and tingly, with apple strudel, cedar spice and cinnamon.
About this bottle
Tomintoul, in the Glenlivet, is known as the gentle dram of Speyside. For the 21 Years Old, Master Distiller Robert Fleming selects American oak ex-bourbon barrels only, so the fruit of the spirit stays at the front.
Launched in 2017, it has since collected a long list of awards, including Gold at the IWSC in 2021 and an IWSC Trophy in 2023.
Neat or with a drop of water; a fine introduction to older Speyside.
