Description
A vatting of pot still whiskeys aged roughly seven to ten years across new bourbon, refill bourbon and sherry casks. The name comes from an old bonding practice: casks were marked with a daub of coloured paint to show how long they were meant to sleep.
Nose Fresh aromatic oils and spices with orchard fruits and barley over toasted wood.
Palate Full and spicy, a hint of cloves alongside the fruity sweetness of green apples, rounded off with toasted oak and lingering barley.
Finish Quite short, with a lovely balance between fruit and malt.
Bottled for Mitchell & Son, the Dublin merchant trading since 1805 and now in its seventh generation. Produced at Midleton.
