Description
Eighteen years in traditional oak, finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Tomatin sits 315 metres up in the Monadhliath foothills south of Inverness — one of the highest distilleries in Scotland, and one made viable by the arrival of the Highland Railway.
Nose Rich and sherried: orchard fruit, citrus and dried fruit — apple, orange and sultana — with dried apricot, nougat and a distinct nuttiness.
Palate Sweet and honeyed, with a backbone of citrus, fruit cake, chocolate and spice, and bursts of tropical fruit over mellow undertones.
Finish Long and warming, the spice fading to leave fruit and chocolate.
The distillery’s luxury core expression, and a repeat Platinum and Double Gold winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
