Description
Armagnac from the four classic grapes — Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche and Baco Blanc — distilled on fine lees in an alambic armagnacais to draw out the greatest aromatic value, then aged in oak and selected by the cellar master.
Armagnac is the older of France’s two great brandies and is made quite differently from cognac: traditionally a single pass through a continuous column still rather than a double distillation, which leaves more of the grape and more texture in the spirit. Presented in a wooden box.
Duc Moisans is the armagnac label of Distillerie des Moisans, the family house at Sireuil in the Charente, which also bottles an unusually deep run of single vintages stretching back to the 1970s.
