Description
Aged more than ten years in oak and distilled to draw out the full richness of its aromas. The house describes it in two words — fruity and vanilla — and promises a tasting of great roundness.
Calvados is Normandy’s apple brandy, made from cider pressed from local bitter and bittersweet varieties, distilled and then left to soften in oak. A decade in wood takes the fruit of the young spirit and layers vanilla and depth over it.
Sausseux is the Calvados label of Distillerie des Moisans, a family house at Sireuil in the Charente, founded in the 1960s by Roland Bru and still in the family. Its other labels include Moisans cognac, Duc Moisans armagnac and Canoubier rum.
