Description
A Dominican rum aged by the Sistema Solera, in which younger spirit draws its maturity from progressively older stock. The 1985 marks the base vintage of the solera, and bottles are individually numbered with their batch date.
Nose Round and fruity — sweet vanilla, caramel and mild spice over soaked wood, with floral notes, vanilla and coconut from American oak emerging as it opens.
Palate Soft and seductive, concentrated on vanilla, caramel and blond tobacco, with a remarkably velvety texture and a fine film of spiced molasses over lightly toasted wood.
Finish Long and round, growing chewy between vanilla tobacco and beeswax.
Oliver & Oliver is a Dominican house whose rum-making roots run back to Cuba before the family re-established production in the Dominican Republic. Exquisito is the name reserved for its finest solera-aged rums.
