Description
Fifteen years in a marriage of two oaks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Jerez. American oak brings butterscotch and caramelised pecan; European oak answers with spice, darker coffee and chocolate. The result is warmer and sweeter than the all-European Sherry Oak line.
Nose Butterscotch and plump raisin, dried fruit, toffee and vanilla, smooth oak and baked apple, with spiced apple crumble, honey and chocolate.
Palate Sweet raisin and sultana building with vanilla, wood spice and citrus, dried fruits dusted with cinnamon, candied ginger and orange peel.
Finish Warm, ginger turning to caramel and citrus, a drizzle of honey and a lingering creamy texture.
As with every Macallan, the golden butterscotch colour is entirely natural and drawn from the cask.
