Tasting notes
Nose
Honey, peach and melon, with vanilla and cinnamon.
Palate
Toffee fudge, crisp green apple and fresh pineapple, with a gentle spice of ginger and nutmeg.
Finish
Long, with juicy green fruit: kiwi, gooseberry and lime.
About this bottle
Loch Lomond Distillery, at the southern end of the loch, is famous for its unusual straight-neck stills, which give a clean, fruity spirit. This 30 Years Old uses unpeated spirit, matured in American oak; half was then finished in first-fill Oloroso casks before the two parts were married by Master Blender Michael Henry.
Launched in 2020, it won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021.
