This Port Ellen was distilled in 1982, matured for 40 years, and released in 2022 by independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. as part of their Eidolon series, which celebrates the legacy of Scotland’s most revered distilleries. On the nose, aromas of peat, leather, and dark fruit are followed by hints of vanilla and charred oak. The palate reveals black pepper, tobacco, and dried fruit, balanced by a seductive smokiness and a sweet aftertaste.
