Tasting note: Valpolicella is the quintessential pasta and pasta wine, grown in the Veneto region of Italy, north of Verona. Aromatic wine with cherries and a touch of almond. Lighter bodied and predominantly fruity, it features an unusually good fruit concentration for Valpolicella, with some nice cherry fruit flavors, purples and a touch of white pepper.
Food pairings: pizzas, pasta dishes with vegetable sauces, fish and white meat stew, as well as prosciutto and cheese.
